From his family’s calling to adopt a child from Africa to being married to Asher who founded Sole Hope, Dru has been an integral part of Sole Hope from the beginning. He does everything from strategy to delivery man to designer to supplier of used bike tires for shoe soles.
Dru’s deep love for children fuels his commitment to Sole Hope. “I am desperately in love with those who desperately need closed toe shoes, and it is my deepest yearning to help them. If my children did not have shoes I would do everything I could to make sure I could provide them that simple often overlooked privilege,” he said.
His skill in graphic design is helping the organization communicate professionally, and his management skills as a retail store manager are invaluable to people learning to start their own businesses. Traveling in Mexico and Europe gives him wonderful expertise in different cultures.
Dru hopes that many people in need will soon be making shoes full time, and he dreams that shoe orders will be so huge that Sole Hope can’t hire enough shoemakers!
He is Sole Hope’s “connection” man; he’s never met a stranger, and he’s an incredible networker with people across the world.
He says it’s a joy for him to go on dates with Asher, his wife. He also loves dancing with his kids, meeting new people, listening to and playing music, and great coffee.
